About Samson Ameh

I'm Samson Ameh, a frontend engineer specializing in React architecture and enterprise-grade UI systems. My work transforms complex backend logic — real-time streaming, permission-scoped workflows, regulated data — into fast, accessible frontends.

Experience

I specialize in enterprise React architecture and production-grade UI systems. My work spans AI-powered interfaces with real-time streaming, role-based access control, and permission-scoped workflows across regulated industries.

I led the frontend for a financial institution's internal platform combining document management, RBAC-driven approval workflows, and a real-time AI assistant with cited source references. I implemented SSE-based streaming chat with in-app document viewer linking answers directly to source sections, Azure AD/MSAL authentication, and Application Insights integration for production observability.

Currently building enterprise solutions with a Microsoft Partner. I've architected modular component libraries adopted across 4-5 enterprise applications, engineered resilient token management for long-lived admin sessions, and optimized Lighthouse performance scores from 60 to 95 through route-level code splitting, memoization, and bundle optimization. I also implemented end-to-end authentication flows including OAuth, MSAL-based admin authentication, customer signup/login, password recovery, OTP verification, and refresh token handling.

Philosophy

Build for the user, not the code. Enterprise frontends serve real people doing critical work. A beautiful component system means nothing if it doesn't respect their constraints — bandwidth, accessibility needs, regulatory compliance. I design interfaces around user workflows, not ideal cases.

Simplicity at scale. Complexity in enterprise code is inevitable, but the frontend should hide it. Reusable components, clear type definitions, and consistent patterns mean the next engineer (or you in six months) can move fast without guessing.

Security is a first-class concern. Authentication, CSRF protection, and data validation belong in architecture decisions, not afterthoughts. I've seen how a missed CORS config or a forgotten sameSite attribute breaks trust with users.

Observability wins. Production code without visibility is production code that fails silently. Instrumenting with Application Insights, logging structured data, and catching errors early — that's what separates hobby projects from systems people rely on.

Technical Foundation

React & TypeScript

I build with React and TypeScript for every project. TypeScript catches errors at compile time, making large-scale refactors safe. I use React patterns like hooks, memoization, and suspense to keep performance predictable.

State Management

Redux Toolkit + RTK Query for enterprise apps with complex async workflows. TanStack Query for simpler data fetching. React Hook Form + Zod for robust form validation. I pick tools based on problem scale, not hype.

Authentication & Security

Production experience with MSAL (Azure AD), OAuth flows, token refresh logic, OTP verification, and password recovery. I understand session management, CSRF protection, and why sameSite cookies matter for regulated environments.

Real-Time Systems

Built streaming chat interfaces with Server-Sent Events (SSE), handling partial messages, connection drops, and state consistency. I've solved the hard problem: keeping UI state sane when data arrives out of order.

Backend & Integrations

I extend into the backend when projects need it. I've built Node.js and Express APIs and worked with PostgreSQL on client and personal projects — enough to own a feature end-to-end without handing off to a backend team.

DevOps & Observability

Integration with Azure DevOps, Application Insights, and structured logging. Performance optimization through route-level code splitting, memoization, and bundle analysis. I measure what matters: user-perceived speed and error rates.

What Drives Me

I'm drawn to problems where frontend architecture matters. When a permission system is wrong, real data leaks. When a streaming UI is buggy, users lose context. These constraints drive better design.

I'm equally motivated by team impact — building component libraries that other engineers adopt, setting patterns that scale, mentoring through code review. Enterprise work is collaborative; shipping fast alone is easy; shipping fast with a team that understands why is rare and valuable.

And I genuinely enjoy the craft. Building robust forms, optimizing Lighthouse scores, debugging a race condition in async state management — there's satisfaction in that precision.
